General Information
Freestyle Sessions are for figure skaters to openly practice their skating skills (i.e., jumps & spins), develop routines, prepare for tests, and engage in private lessons. Robson Arena welcomes figure skaters and coaches no matter their affiliation to skate.
Rules
-
Skaters will conduct warm-up exercises and off-ice stretching in the locker room hallway, being sure to not block traffic.
-
A skater executing their program with their music has the right of way. Skaters should work together to determine the order for music to be played. Access to the aux connection is in the penalty box.
-
Be courteous and stay out of the way of skaters actively skating. Do not sit or stand idly on the ice; instead, stand against the boards out of the way.
-
Street shoes are strictly prohibited on the ice. Coaches not on skates can coach from the penalty box.
-
Rink doors must always remain closed during sessions for safety and to minimize injury. Take caution when entering and exiting the ice.
-
Coaches or skaters are not permitted on the ice at any time during an ice resurface. Zamboni drivers are responsible for enforcing this rule and anyone not in compliance will be asked to leave.
-
Only sealable, non-breakable liquid containers are allowed in the bench area. Drinking on the ice is prohibited.
-
Collect all personal items and trash before exiting the rink.
-
Skaters under 18 years old must always have a parent or guardian present in the building. These adults are welcome to sit in the lobby outside Arena Services or in the stands. Parents/guardians are not permitted in the hockey boxes for the safety of skaters.
-
Coaches are required to check-in before sessions at Arena Services.
